Hide Hard drive's partition by using command Prompt - without any software

Do you have some confidential data and dont wanna share that data with your friends and other persons. so now you can hide any of partition of your hard drive, just store all your confidential and private data in that hard disk partition and hide that partition. Here is a very cool and simple trick , for this you need not to install any software. this can be done just by using command prompt.

Follow given steps to hide partitions without using any software.

1). Go to Start and type Run.

2). Type Diskpart in run and press Enter.
window will askes for our permission to continur. click on continue.
3). In the console type List volume to see all the drives available on your PC/Computer ad their volume.

4). Now select the drive which you want to hide.
Suppose you want ot delete D drive. '
It is volume 1 for drive D. you can found volume from command prompt itself as it list volume with each disk partition as shown in figure.


5). Now to hide D drive type Select volume 1 .



6). Type remove letter d , this will hide your drive.
Its done.

Now d drive is hidden.

Now to get your drive back type Select volume 1 and then type assign letter d.

Enable or Disable Control Panel

If your friends, childrens or family members use your computer and you do not want them to change any system setting then best way for this is to disable Control Panel. To disable control panel you have to do some changes in Regisstry. Just follow these steps:

1). Go to Run and type regedit.

2). Now window will ask for your permission to continue Click on Continue

3). Now in registry editor window, Browse to given User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]

4). Here create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called NoControlPanel set the value to equal 1 to enable the restriction.

5). Now again browse to following System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

6). Follow step no 4 to create NoControlPanel dword key.

7). Exit registry editor.

Its done.

you may need to restart for the changes to take effect. This setting allows you to restrict user access to the Control Panel options and settings.

any other files with .exe Extension . *

6). If it contains any of the files above file then type attrib -h -r -s -a *.* and press Enter.

7). Delete each of that file using delete Command

del filename (For exaple: del autorun.inf )

3). Make sure you're using an updated version of your IM software. Using the most up-to-date version of your IM software can better protect your computer against viruses and spyware. It can block attachments that might contain malware and allow you to scan attachments for viruses.

4). Use antivirus software and keep it updated. Antivirus software can help to detect and remove IM viruses from your computer, but only if you keep the antivirus software current. Lock DISK DRIVES without any software - Cool Computer Tricks

We don’t usually prefer to lock our drives, but sometimes it becomes nesscary. So here is trick to lock drives without any software, For this you have to do some changes in registry editor.
Please don’t try this tweak with your root drive (usually C:\ is the root drive) since root drives are not intended to be locked because they are mandatory for the system and application programs.

1). Click on Start and Run and then type Regedit to open Registry editor window.

2). In registry editor window Browse

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3). Create a new DWORD value name it NoViewOnDrive and set its value as 2^(Alpha Number of Drive Letter-1) where Alpha number are simple counting of alphabets from A to Z as 1 – 26

For example: to lock C:\, Alpha number of C is 3 so 2^ (3-1) = 4 (decimal value)

A: 1

C: 4

D: 8

E: 16

F: 32

G: 64

H: 128

4). To lock more drives, calculate the value of each drive and then set sum of those numbers as value

5). To unlock your drive just delete the key from the registry.


6). Press F5 to refresh.
Its done.

Make Folder Invisible - Cool Computer Tricks

Do you have some confidental files want to hide them with other users then this trick is for you. by using this trick you can hide a folder without using any software just follow these steps:

1) Right Click on the desktop(or where you want to create invisible folder) and make a new folder.

2) Now rename the folder with a space (hold ALT key and type 0160).

3) Now you have a folder with out a name.

4) Place your confidental files in this folder.

5) Right click on the folder and then on properties.

6) In Property window click on custom tab and then on change icon.

7) In change icon template window, scroll a bit, you should find some empty spaces, Click on that.

8) click ok.

Its done.

Now to make it visible rename it and change its icon by following similar steps.

Hide data in notepad

Do you know that you can hide data in a notepad file. You can save any of your confidental data in a notepad file in such a way that noone is able to see it except you. just follow these steps:

1) Open command Prompt (type cmd in run).

2) You may change to any directory where you want to save that file.

3) Type notepad filename.txt:StoreHiddenData then press enter. here filename is name of file for example if i want to create a notepad file of name secret then i will write notepad secret.txt:StoreHiddenData. This will create a text file secret.txt.

4) A message will be pop up Cannot find the D:\secret.txt:StoreHiddenData.txt file. Do you want to create a new file?, click OK button to proceed create the new file.

5) A notepad will be pop up. Type data that you want to hide from others. Save the file and you are now successfully creating hidden data for this file.

6) close cmd.

A notepad file secret.txt is successfuly created which contains hidden data. When you open secret.txt, it seems empty. Actualy your data is hidden so you are not able to see it, if you want to see your hidden data then open cmd and type notepad secret.txt:StoreHiddenData. A notepad file will be pop up which contains hidden data.

Block and Enable usage of USB Removable Disks

This tip will allow you to block usage of USB removable disks, but will continue to allow usage of USB mice, keyboards or any other USB-based device that is NOT a portable disk.

Block usage of USB Removable Disks

To block your computer's ability to use USB Removable Disks follow these steps:

1. Open Registry Editor.

2. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR

3. Locate the following value (DWORD):Start and give it a value of 4(four).

4. Close Registry Editor.

You do not need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

To return to the default configuration and enable your computer's ability to use USB Removable Disks follow these steps:

1. Go to the registry path found above.

2. Locate the following value: Start and give it a value of 3(three).
